A long itinerary that, through forests, pastures, and spectacular views of Alta Lessinia, leads from Giazza (Selva di Progno) to Fosse (Sant'Anna d'Alfaedo), touching some of the most beautiful and characteristic alpine huts in the area.

The path starts in Giazza, near the Church. From the square, descend south of the church with two small hairpin bends, until crossing the bridge over the Revolto stream. *

* Variant: on the left, to the south, you will find trail no. 251 - the Medium Ridge of Lessinia

Continue west on the ancient road of "Le Gosse", first surpassing a couple of hairpin bends and then entering a winding path through the forest. Leave on the left a mule track that leads to Malga Parparo di Sotto. Continue right to reach, out of the forest, the ancient road of Lessinia, where a monument indicates trail E5. (m. 1649, 1.45 hours).

Continue north to the vicinity of Malga Grolla, where the road begins to descend. Pass by the Malga Malera di Sotto. **

** Variant: on the right, a connection departs that cuts across the eastern slope of Castel Malera and quickly reaches San Giorgio along the trail (m. 1505, 45 min- total: 2.30).

Continue on the unpaved provincial road of Alta Lessinia, heading north, passing near Malga Gaibana and shortly after Bocca Gaibana (m. 1508, 0.30 hours - total: 3.00). From here, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Carega Group and the Val dei Ronchi. Follow the dirt road until you reach the Pozza Morta. In a few minutes, you can reach the Summit of Monte Sparavieri. Continue along the road, now flat, until you reach the junction leading to the Rifugio Podesteria (m. 1655, 1.00 hours - total: 4.00), where once the Podestà would go during the summer to collect taxes on behalf of the lords.

After Podesteria, leave the main road and continue west along the ridge, following what was the old border with Austria until 1918: the Cordoni. After some ups and downs, join the road to Castelberto (m. 1765, 1.30 hours - total: 5.30). Continue north until you reach Cima Castelberto, from where you can enjoy breathtaking views. Descend down the western slope, passing through the high pastures of Malga Foppiano (m.1363, 0.50 hours - total: 6.20). Continue southwest and enter the forest, first flat and then downhill, until you enter a forest road (0.10 hours - total: 6.30). Proceed on the left that climbs quite regularly until just below Malga Revoltel and then turn right, westward, down into the meadows of Malga Lavachione.

Descend the road that leads to Sega di Ala. Proceed along the Sega - Fittanze road until the last houses on the right, where you take a trail that leads to Passo delle Fittanze (m.1399, 3.30 hours - total: 10.00). Here various paths converge, take the one to the left of the monument that goes in the southwest direction around Monte Cornetto and leads to Passo Liana. Climb the small road to the northwest that leads to the Spluga della Preta.  (m 1497, 1 hour - total: 11.50)****

*** Variant: shortly after Malga Preta, you can ascend via the trail that branches to the right (trail 234) and follow the old smuggler's way to reach the pass of Rocca Pia and then descend to Contrada Tommasi to continue along the main route.

**** Variant: from the Spluga itself, you can ascend via the trail leading to Corno d'Acquilio (m. 1545) in about 20 minutes, from where you can enjoy a grand view of the Val d'Adige.

From the hollow on the left of the Spluga, descend via the ancient path that opens into Valle Liana and connects with the road leading through Contrade Tommasi and Coste to continue and reach Fosse, where the route 250 ends. *****

***** Variant: from here you can connect to the Medium Ridge of Lessinia, trail no. 251 of CAI and continue to Peri.
