"I Am Still Here" by director Walter Salles:
Rio de Janeiro, 1971. In Brazil, a military dictatorship prevails. Eunice Paiva begins a solitary battle to uncover the truth behind the disappearance of her husband, former PTB deputy Rubens Paiva, while trying to keep her family together.
The protagonist, besides being a true hero of the Brazilian democratic resistance, is a woman who is impossible not to be fascinated by, for the magnetic elegance she displays in the first part of the film and for the steady and indomitable dignity, despite her suffering, that characterizes her in the second half.
